The Cottage
Carden Cottage is a dream come true. After years of vacationing on the Maine coast, our family happened on to the Village of Bayside. It was truly love at first sight. For many years we rented the Windy Corner cottage directly across the street from Carden. When Carden became available, we were fortunate to have the opportunity to truly join this lovely community.
The most wonderful thing about the cottage is the huge wraparound porch, just made for porch-sitting, which is a high art in Bayside. Neighbors are not in the least surprised if you are sitting on the porch in your PJs having your morning cup of coffee - and don't be shy about inviting them to join you - that is the essence of Bayside. Folks in Bayside are happy to "visit" and share this bit of news or that. Visitors are welcomed, just as life long summer residents are. For the time you are at Carden Cottage, you are part of Bayside.

Spaces to Relax and Rejuvenate
The cottage has two "living areas" on the first floor that can be separated by closing the french doors between the two rooms.The family room has a television and a sleeper sofa. The kitchen and main living area are connected by the dining area, giving the cottage and open, welcoming feel. All rooms have a view of Penobscot Bay. The first floor is completed by bath with shower that can be reached from either the kitchen or family room. The kitchen is fully equipped from pots and pans down to plastic dishes for the kids. The pantry has commonly used spices, flour, sugar and other basics. Guests are encouraged to leave behind non-perishable food for the next guests. By summers end, the pantry provides a interesting sociologically essay of the cottage's occupants!
The second floor has three bedrooms, all with views of the Bay. The master bedroom has a California King, the second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom has a twin. The second floor has a large bath with a window looking over the tops of the neighboring cottages out toward Isleboro.
